LCI LED tail lights

i recently installed the LCI LED tail lights.. but i've seen bimmers with just the bars of the tail light on and the brake lights only come on when you step on the brakes..
how do i make my LCI tails show only the "bars" when my car is idling? are there specific bulbs? idk.. help me out?

Judging from your commentary, I will assume that you bought the Hella conversion cables and not the Bruce V6 cables. If this is the case, unfortunately you will have the 2 bulbs behind the LED rods lit up at all times. The Bruce V6 cables give you the OEM like effect of just the rods lit up and no bulbs behind them except when applying the brake.
