Here's the thing - The LCI E60 535d is VED band E (182g/Km) compared with the old pre-LCI 535d VED band F(211g/Km). Guess which stats my local DVLA used ? Yup, they used the pre-LCI. This was confirmed by the ever helpful BMW Cust Services. So my road Tax was at the higher Band F rate! Now the real kicker is when you check the official VOSA Website .You guessed it right, it lists the *correct* CO2 emissions... Chuffin' muppets ... Can't wait to get my V5 thro', its probably going to be a Picasso Hope no-one else gets caught up in this web of officialdom ineptitude...

When I picked my car up last year, I just happened to notice that the VED on the car was correct, but the Dealer had charged me for the next band up!! OK, it was only a tenner, but I wasn't checking - it was pure luck that I spotted it just after I arrived home. They refunded the money (along with another sum that they had overcharged me for something else!) without quibbling, but the cynic in me thought that it was a good way to earn a little extra cash on the deal. Dealers aren't that unscrupulous are they??? . . . .

Just spoke with DVLA - Their position is that they want documented proof that the chassis number of the car has the lower Co2 emissions.... They couldn't give a monkey's what VOSA had on their website.

Whilst I understand the principle, how much is this annual saving and how much time have you spent on this?
