The LCI models come with an electronic tranny, the joystick type. Well but you can't keep the D(rive) mode and have a door open. The transmission switches to "P" mode automatically and you hear the dash beeping with "protect against rolling" message.

How can I drive with the door open? Might be useful in some very special scenarios.

Maybe it has something to do with Comfort Access. I see you've got it too, like me.

With CA, you also can't keep N mode and shut off the engine. You have to put in the key into the ignition, only that way it keeps "N" mode after shutting off.

I'll try with the key inside, but I'm lazy to go into the garage now.

Someone with more experience or without CA may tell us

Just tried it.

You have to put the key into the ignition if you have CA. Then it works with the door open in D mode.
