Strange that they only have 528i and 530i, and then M5 over there. It'd be more logical to have a model between 530i and M5...

Personally I wouldn't spend $9K for a 530i over a 528i, sounds like a lot of money for only a couple of extra HP. Both are sweet I6's, so you'll enjoy them.

Good luck with your choice.
We do have a model in between the 530i and the M5. The 550i. However, most people considering the 550i will pay the difference and move up to a 7 Series or a M5. I was asking a friend at BMW Korea how many units of the 550i they've sold in this since it came out and he told me that you can count number of units on the fingers of my two hands and still have fingers left over. The 550i isn't very popular in Korea. Those who can afford to buy and run a 550i can afford to maintain a M5 or a 750iL (for the older crowd).

Economically speaking, the 528i makes much more sense than the 530i... Like 'CWS530' said, it's about US$1500 per tenth of second in terms of acceleration. Top speed isn't important in traffic congested for 20hrs out of 24hrs Seoul. Torque is more important and the 530i doesn't have that much more torque than a 528i.

Much thanks for your input! Hopefully I'll make a decision I'll be happy with!

Can anyone that owns/drives a 528i give me some feedback?

I never drove a 528, but I always loved my 530. I say go for it! You only live once. What's $9K over the course of the years to come, right?

Or just stick with what you have, because what you have is also an AMAZING car! If anything, take the $9K for the upgrade and MOD the hell out of the 528!

I like the latter idea better. Hahahaha!

I ordered the 528 with the latter in mind. But there doesn't seem to be many engines mods available for the 528 yet....

I say get the 528 and spend the extra $$ on mods. You might be able to get the same HP and Torque out of the 528 for way less $$$ on mods...intake, ECU flash, removing the floormats.

Exhaust and intake isn't a problem, but no one seems to do the ECU yet. The Euro ECU tuners have no plans to do anything for the 528 because it's only sold in the U.S., Canada and Korea. Dinan has nothing as yet. I guess one of the U.S. ECU tuners will have something later one. I hope.

the mats are an important one, also driving with only 1/2 tank or less at all times to keep the weight down.

+1 for everything D stated...
