Just noticed a dead pixel on my new 530 (under 200 miles). It is located on the "Assistance" side (right side) of the screen.
Do you guys think the dealer would replace it. I purchased the vehicle in another city and will be bringing in to a local dealer because of the hassle.
What is the best way to handle this. I'm afraid the local dealer may be less to accommodate me since I did not buy the car from them.

Its a very complcated task to replace the screen that involves dash disassembly and may possibly cause more problems than it fixes (rattles, etc). If you can live with it, I would avoid the replacement, if not, I'm sure dealer will replace it.

Other members have had theirs replaced under warranty, for exactly this problem.

I have a dead pixel on the assistance screen side too but you only can see it if you turn the monitor off. So it doesn't really bother me. Plus like TexaZ3 said it may cause more problems if you try to change the monitor out.

Replace this screen is easiest thing on this car that you want to replace. Much easier than replacing the windshield wipers.
2 torx T-10 screws, LVDS cable removal and supply.

That will covered by warranty
I will bring the car in later after I discover all the problem/warranty items to be fixed all at once. Just wondering if they need to order the lcd sreen or do most of the have it in stock. Hate to make multiple trips.
BTW, love the picture you have as your ID. Like to see a larger version..Mahalo

I also have 1 dead pixel on my screen, it doesn't bother me that much. I will contact the dealer when there are more dead pixel show up.
