I agree that you guys are killing us future 550 owners. I still have about 1 1/2 to go and its getting harder and harder to sleep at night
You have it easy! Can you imagine how an 530 owner feels reading this?

I came from an e46 M3 which was quite a rush, but didn't have the combination of power and luxury of the 550. I just love how this huge V8 revs; it frankly is impossible to keep to break-in RPMs when in DS mode.

Sorry for driving you all nuts with the post. I went thru the same damn thing. But as with anything else, no pain no gain. You'll see.

Totally agree, darkside. The combo of power and luxury is mind altering. As for break-in RPMs, forget DS mode till the miles build up. I popped in DS once just prior to 1.2K and it flew past 5.5 like butter. Oops. Your only kidding yourself to think the beast will stay under 4.5k.

Hang in there,

CVT Benhogan

I say that the 550i guys should buy meters, test properly, and show us 545i/645i guys how it is done. Our cars are kind of slow; check here.

Great idea, but your gearing still is inferior. And, you aren't even 50 yet. So, I am way ahead.

HAHAHAHAH DOH! Can I borrow and race your Step 545 with your Z06? I think I can take you even if i'm not 50 yet!

As for gearing... true... but wondering how much that'll affect in gear acceleration... since one has a torque converter... and the other doesnt... just interesting to see...

You meter guys are hot rodders with many launches under your belt. Just waiting to roust some semi- innocent newbie with a 550. Good Lord.

Right now, I'll save my lunch money for Valentine 1 before my wife has to bail me out of jail.
