Hi Guys,

Thanks for the replies! Sorry for the late response very busy weekend!

Looking at the car every time i get in just makes it look ugly!

@bruce_miranda Sorry to hear about finding your car on bricks, that must of hurt! yeah i guess they probably brought a salvage car and didnt want to pay for little bits and pieces. Just makes you sick that someone would steal very petty parts. I remember when i used to have my S3 everyone's silver mirror caps where getting robbed, for the sake of £100 im sure if they can afford to fuel an S3 they can afford £100 for a set of covers!

@jaycal3 No no-one saw anything there must of been more than 1 person, the most damage they caused is where the fogs go, all the fixture holes in the bumper are all ripped!

@sleeper50, i second that. some really sick people in this world.

@inktoxicated I'll pop you a PM, managed to pick up the small plastic bits from BMW,as their dealer only parts! for around £130 + VAT! and need to get them sprayed.

@Mephistopheles, if i ever find out i'll let you know, petty thieves.

@Hyper_545i Not too sure, just seems like a pretty lame way to upset someone by taking tow bar covers etc they must have needed the pieces for their car and just felt like stealing them!

aretardedorange @ Thats what everyone thinks, and to be fair sounds that makes sense, that happens a lot here in the UK. Some idiot will buy a salvage car pay another idiot to go and steal the same car in the same colour and then strip it for parts. Seems like this clown had his car done up and just needed random bits and pieces. Although its little bits and bobs it makes the car look ugly and just makes me sick!

@ jrsamps, yup prime example of a scum!

@ tex_phil exactly. I wish i caught them in the act, i would of ran them over with the jets on!

and thank you to all who have replied

Just need to get this fixed asap, The parts will be sent in for spraying tomorrow and hopefully will be done this week if get the fogs.

Many thanks

Its amazing what people will do...Someone tried to steal the 4 blade prop off my boat 2 years ago, little did they know they need a hydraulic prop puller to get it off. It was clear that when there weren't going to get their prize they decided to vandalize the rest of the boat and take odd things like a mirror and foam padding off the boat...Maybe this thief was after something more valuable in/on your car and couldn't obtain it and decided to take frustrations out on your car like the idiots who messed with my boat.

@PaoChe god knows, sorry to hear about that. I dont understand what makes people do stuff like this!

Managed to source all the parts now, the little plastic covers are getting sprayed should be done by tomorrow i hope!

Fogs and stuff will be done over the weekend.

I have tried to search on the forum but does anybody have links to a nice clear DIY guide to getting easy access to the fogs area?

Also i need a DIY to remove the headlight (have found one on this forum but was wondering if there is anything more clear)

thanks in advance guys

I really hate these sort of stories, reminds me of the hassle i have had over the years. Really sorry to hear of what the thieves have done. Living in London does have its drawbacks.

before my E60 i had an X5, i had the chromatic mirrors stolen, the thieves just ripped the glass out, tore the wires. Only for me to replace and they were nicked again 3 weeks later. That was the main reason i got rid of and got the five.

Here is a list of the hassles i have had in the past:

my E39 530i sport had the Sport front bumper stolen when it was in for some mechanical work in a local garage. My E36 328i sport had the front bumper 'almost' nicked - phew all the bolts were loose one morning, think they got disturbed. Then going back a bit i had a 1989 325i Sport - had both the front and rear bumpers nicked! man that was painful.

I liked the design of the E60 Sport, mainly because i thought it's hard to nick bits off it, mainly the front and rear bumpers, the side skirts can clip off though. The stuff they nicked off your car are niggly but soo much hassle to source and paint.

Keep your car off the road at night if possible, in December 2010 there were approx 12 Sport front bumpers stolen from E46 Sports and E39 Sports in the Ilford / Seven Kings area of Essex/London. I also have a 330ci M Sport coupe and soo damn lucky that night i was away otherwise mine would of defo gone! since then i have has security bolts fitted to the bumpers where they mount. The ordinary tool bit will not fit.

Yep i havin a moan, but these thieves frustrate me soo much!! they got no respect for our pride and joy.

Hope you get your car sorted out real soon mate.

Hi there Saleeper, i know exactly what you mean! These people just piss you off!!! Clearly they are buying salvage cars and just pinching parts to bang on their motor, tramps!

They took all the 'clip on' clip off' parts on my car, very minor but the plastics alone (flimsy little bits) cost £130 to buy then more on top to spray them! (should get them tomorrow) and the fogs and stuff added up too! Ah well, i guess we just have to live with idiots around us. Sorry to hear about all the bits and pieces that got stolen of your cars! I had the from bumper of my S3 torn off alone with the grill and the fu*kers bent the wing at the same time, headlights brackets all broken. bonnet kinked with the tools the used. But the same thing happened to someone else who lives around the corner A3 they took the bumper of that too and the wing mirrors!

Hopefully my car should be back in shape by Monday!
