Equalizers are making a difference, but I odn't think you can add the L7 eq.
I think you would neet to get an aftermarket equalizer, but I can't tell you how, or if that can be added...

Ask your dealer to retrofit it.

Almost anything can be retrofited....for a price

Almost certainly it won't be worth it. Certainly the point of equalizers is to correct problems with either the components in front of it, or room problems. But they add their own colourations to the sound, and no self-respecting audiophile would go near one in a well balanced home system with a 10ft pole.

I didn't get L7 for the equalizer (I keep all the settings flat). I wanted the beefier amps, extra speakers and the dsp (which is actually useful in the odd acoustic environment of the car).

I think the easiest and possibly less expensive way to add the EQ is to trade the car in on one with Logic 7.

I agree 100%. In the E39, I found that I needed to play with the EQ to be happy. With this car, everything is flat but I often use the L7 concert hall setting to add a bit of "space" to the car.

now that's really interesting - as a self respecting audiophile I have kept my home system as pure as I can, separate power supply, separate main/pre-amp, separate left and right amplification and absolutely no equaliser.

but what went wrong in the car - went for all the toys and have the equaliser set like a ski jump - bloody love the base depth - maybe in a car the acoustics are so sub-optimal that it doesn't matter.
