Cool

So, I am sitting in my office a few minutes ago when my assistant pushed her head in to tell me that my BMW service center was on the phone for me. I got on the tele, expecting her to ask me why I neglected to fill out the silly survey from my last visit. Instead, she said "your car has notified us a short while ago that it needs servicing, and I am calling to schedule a time for you to bring it in". Bloody Hell !!! Seems like I am driving David Hasselhof's car, Kit. The funny thing is that the "service due" alert showed up yesterday and I was going to make an appointment this morning and totally forgot. Now, if Kit could only notify BMW when other little annoying things are going wrong with it.

I happened to me a month ago -- 30 days prior to my state inspection expiration date.

"KITT" (Knight Industries Two Thousand) had a few more gadgets but something tells me my car is more fun to drive...

Same here, it automatically calls your assigned service center when service is due.

You can also 'force' this by going into the service settings and requesting a service, or contact.

I think you have to have an assigned service center in your profile on Owners circle though.

My service center sucks so bad that they just ignore it. I asked and one of the service reps said (and I quote). "If the car can make the request, then it's fine to drive and they'll just call and make an appointment".

I rolled off my chair laughing. I wish I had a better Service Center near by...
