I'm contemplating trying to carry my 18-foot sea kayak atop my E60. Thule apparently has no solutions for the car yet, but BMW Part 82-71-0-147-586 provides a basic rack for the top. Has anyone tried this rack, and more importantly, I guess, will Thule accessories mate to it successfully?

I have the BMW rack system, have used it with surfboards, skis and snowboards - it works great. Your Thule parts will not work with the BMW rack. I think the BMW windsurfer part might be your best bet. I have pictures if you are interested let me know
