My Ride: 2009 528xi, Jet Black, Black Dakota Leather, Poplar Wood, Steptronic Transmission, Premium Package, Cold Weather Package
Hey, thanks all! I guess i'll just stick with the halogens for now I had no idea that xenon's weren't standard until after my dad brought the car home
@jagbagri:
I had a 2004 525i (for about 2.5 years before it got totaled) and the iDrive on my new 5 series is a lot different controls wise. The screen and the options in the menus all look the same. So if by new iDrive you mean new buttons and such, then yes, I have the new iDrive.
http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=33380&hl= Here is the original link from when I posted here back when my car got totaled. My dad ended up leasing an E350 4MATIC for 2 years. That car was horrible!
5 Series are amazing cars!

I guess anybody thinking or ordering NOW, should ask and wait for this new iDrive as from now on all will be coming with this new version. But dealers still try to push their existing inventories out without telling their customers about the new amazing iDrive.
sorry Viper, I don't mean to dampen your spirit and enjoyment of getting a new ride. It's still an amazing car. Enjoy

If the screen and the options in the menus all look the same then you might have ended up with the older/current version of iDrive. I thought all the new cars now (delivered or ordered in March are coming with the new idrive version, I guess I may be wrong). The new iDrive comes with all new menus, new way of navigating around, now you will have full screen of maps, not the half split like now. Check out this small video about it on the following link.
