Did order the Space Gray for lazy washing...

Anyway, black rims will get trendy?

See the difference between 244's and 172's.

Hi there.

Those 172s look superb. Did you need spacers at the back? I've heard so many confusing stories about the 9.5" rears...

I want to get the same wheels for mine, but don't fancy the idea of spacers and longer bolts.

Thanks, Mark

you only need spacers if you are putting the 172s on a e61 (stationwagen). on the e60, spacers are not needed!!

Great! I'll have to get saving...

Funny - I thought the standard M Sport wheels looked fine until I parked up behind one with those 172s on. My 18" 192s looked quite tiny in comparison. Amazing the difference that inch makes.

I will also be glad to fit ordinary tyres rather than run-flats - not happy with a ?230 puncture after 1000 or so miles from new! 4 miles to a tyre fitter at 40mph driving on a motorway on a 'flat' rear run-flat aged me by about 10 years as well. Begs the question, what's the point? I can see that a high speed blow out situation they might save the day, but I'm not so sure if my experience of 'running on flat' is anything to go by, the car was almost uncontrollable at 40mph.

I expect this topic has been discussed at length elsewhere though...

Everyone is going crazy over the 172s, and here I am thinking of selling mine for some HRS rims.
