I've had "hifi's" since the 50's, and my SIRIUS/Logic 7 sounds quite good, but, yes, not as good as CDs. I assume you have adjusted your equalizer to suit your tastes. How do you CDS sound? Maybe you have a system. not a SIRIUS, problem.

CDs sound awesome. L7 in my car sounds superb, it's just when playing sirius that I feel it's not great. Maybe I just need to get used to it.

It's by design. You compress any audio signal as much as the satellite radio companies do, and it will sound like ass, no matter how many newly-minted PhDs you have designing your algorithms.

[/quote]Right, maybe your ears just always want the best. I really enjoy my SIRIUS. I probably am not as demanding a listener as you, but, still, maybe you could compare your SIRIUS to some others just in case.

OK, well I have to post somewhat of a retraction of my previous rant agains sirius. having had it now for 3 days, I am enjoying it. The sound quality still is not what I would want it to be, and I find it frustrating that Sirius apparently chooses to heavily compress their signal (why not offer 75 high quality channels instead of 150 compressed ones??) but the selection is great, and most of the time the sound quality is acceptable. I would do it again. Having said that, the sound quality is still nowhere near CD. That's my only gripe.
