Just got back from the NYC Auto Show, BMWNA had a special event two hours before the show opened to the general public. They had the 2008's there. Here are some answers to some questions:Sport Auto is a torque converter tranny that just shifts faster and has paddle shifters. They had one on a 535i there. Looks similar to the SMG paddles. Both the Sport Auto and Steptronic have rev matching on downshifts. The Sport Auto will not upshift in manual mode at redline but will downshift near idle.SMG was designed for people that wanted to stick shift but had another/other drivers that had to drive the car. Once the came out with the Sport Auto the SMG was redundant in their minds. The rear red reflectors in the lower rear bumper are now allowed by DOT and they will be on the 2008 E60's. The problem before was that under a slow speed impact no lights or reflectors could brake under DOT requirements. The rear bumper's new design meets this DOT requirement.
They had a Monaco Blue/Tan Interior 535i Sport package/ Sport Auto there today and it looked hot. I am ordering the same next week for the June build.

Thanks pennetta.
I'm glad to see the sport auto won't upshift at redline -- that was one of the items on my wishlist (see here.)
I'm planning on ordering my car next week (for June production...)
