I looked into MANY cars before deciding this one. To name a few: LS430, M3, CLK55 AMG, S4, 7 series, E500, S55 AMG, SC430, A6, etc. Out of those the S55 impressed me the most. I put a deposit on it brought it home, did some research on reliability, and gave it back the next day lol. Very unreliable car from what I've read but boy was it a blast to drive. Finally I decided on a very clean CPOd 545 sport.

I love the M5 styling. The mods I was thinking of doing was the M5 fender vent and quad exhaust. I dont want to pass it off as a M5 or anything but just think the E60 looks amazing with those. I would debadge the trunk and take off the M5 logo from the fender vent. Do you guys think it would be tacky to copy M5 styling?

Heres a pic: First mod is getting some nice staggered rims.

:welcome: Congrats on the new (to you) car and enjoy the forums!! As for the M5 conversion, so long as it's not a "Poser" kind of thing, then performing all the needed M5 Mods is perfectly fine, and in fact encouraged here!

I personally think as long as nothing says M5 on your car you are doing nothing wrong by using some of the beautiful styling found in that vehicle.

Really nice car you have there, great job getting the sport package.

Opinions will vary around here, but my personal belief is that anything goes as long as you don't re-badge your car with "M5"....

But, I'm also a firm believer that when someone spends a significant amount of money on something (like a vehicle) they should be able to do WHATEVER they'd like to it without being criticized. It is your car afterall.

On a side note, I saw a Ford Escort with an M3 badge and several BMW badges on it the other day. I got a quick chuckle out of it, but my coworkers thought I was overreacting.

M5 styling all the way, vented fenders pushes it though. =) Not to mention expensive as F. Just do the M-TECH kit, about $2500 painted / mounted. Well worth it in looks alone. Then, dump the stock rims for some 166 or 167's with an M6-off-set and BOOYAH!!!!! Badass ride.

Congrats on the car! I don't mind coverting the looks to resemble the M5 and I would actually reccomend it as long as you don't put the ///M emblem on your car.

I love the look of the M5 (fenders and all) but I don't think you really need to go to that level. I think the look of the 545i with Mtech is all you need to do - basically, have it be the best looking 545i that your wallet can afford...

+1 do not put on any M badges and it's cool.. Welcome to the forums and enjoy your stay..

No M badges and I draw the line at no M OEM or M OEM-like bodywork: bumpers, fenders, M vents, etc either.

Do it up. Plenty of people on here have done exactly what you're talking about.
