Just bought a 2004 BMW 545i, and I need some help.
There is all types of sensors going off and it has 216k miles, runs good still has great power but leaks a few drops of oil a night which isn’t really an issue, also smells like it burns a little bit but that might be from it leaking near the exhaust, but it sometimes says engine oil pressure low, when I know it isn’t. Also the dynamic drive has a malfunction and I need help on what to look for to find the issue, took it to autozone and they told me there is a vacuum leak. Should I put stop leak in the oil? Or will that harm the engine, also the car is running lean, and the seat belt light is on saying the passenger restraint system is damaged, and when I start the car it says a bunch of lights are out when they aren’t out and the interior lights flicker. I will attach a list of the codes that was found.
Thank you for any help in advance !
First thing I would do is change the ebox fan should be in the box on the passenger firewall (could be the cause of some codes due to module over heating).
Next check your battery to see how old it is (bad batteries can give all sorts of issues).
Next check your alternator (same as battery with issues).
If you find the battery and or alternator bad fix and erase codes to see what pops up.
Now comes the fun part. Check under your front seats and all around the trunk. These could be water getting in and getting into a module causing a lot of issues. If you see something water damaged change it out and recode. Do not forget under the spare tire (make sure you unplug the wire harness on the modules to make sure there is no corrosion.
Finally DO NOT put stop leak in your engine. If the oil leak is not pouring meaning you don't have to add oil during changes don't worry about it. If you want the leak to stop fix it.
With your vacuum leaks do a smoke test and fix the hoses that are bad.

Great car, but they can have issues. Watch out for the alternator seal - its a $2 part that is not easy to replace, but if it fails, oil gushes out of the engine like no tomorrow. Mine failed on me on the way to work, and somehow I made it to my indy without issue.
