My transmission fault came up when I put the car into reverse
 

A few issues have popped up on my e60 530i (2004) with 190,000kms (118,000 mls)

Last week the car wouldnt start (no crank but dash light still went on the dash as normal ). I tried again 15 mins later and it started. Is this a Solenoid issue?

sometimes when i put the car in reverse the transmission fault pops up and then the transmission starts to change harshly . When I Turn the car off and on and it rectifies itself amd fault disappears

are these two items related as they have both started happening in the last week
