Well, had the car for 10 days, and 1318 miles and tonight as I was leaving work I heard a moise from the back seat. It sounds like something is loose in the back shelf when I hit a bump. Nothing in the back seat or trunk.

Oh well, it does not really bother me seeing as I am used to driving GM and Ford's where these noises come standard. It was a fun 10 days though, but that "vault" feeling you get whne driving is gone when there is a squeak in the back.

I might call the dealer and get it checked or I may wait until needs some real service.

I did find a solution two solutions.
1. Turn up radio
2. Put three children in the back seat and the noise is not there.

Gee, welcome to the club, I guess. Given all of the new "members", perhaps we should have some kind of welcome gift? I suggest the rubber doorstops that I wedge between back seat and parcel shelf. Maybe you could donate your kids

I got a four year old with an attitude that I could lend to you.

Who knows - maybe Dads new punishment will be making the kids sit in the back seat when I go places.

In my case, there are 3 sources:

1. Rear central brake light area (on the roof). Pull the (interior) cover and put some foam.
2. Black plastic trim on the parcel shelf. You will see it when you fold down rear seats. Took it out and filled/patched some foam and put it back.
3. Armrest - Don't know exactly where and how to fix yet but rattle is gone when armrest is fold down.

Calll me crazy, but I serioiusly think that SOME of the squeaks/rattles are weather related. As it gets colder, more noise ...

That is true but interior design should take this into consideration. So, there should be no rattle at any time. I think most Lexus cars can achieve that.

Does the squeak appear equally in cars with the fold down seat and cars without it?

My parcel shelf rattle is weather resistant...

It is alwayst there!

My door seal squeak is directly proportional to rain & humidity.

Take a full load.

Had date night two weeks ago, 2 adults ( 1 trim female) ...squeaks from back seat have dissapated.

Something must have settled.
