Ipod ready?

My Ride: 2009 535i Sport, 6 speed, Aero Pkg, Prem, CA, Cold Wthr + Rear Htd Seats, Nav, Sat, HD, Heads-Up, Night Vision, Rear Shades
I recently purchased a '09 535 with L7/HD radio/Sat and Nav. What is the deal with the ipod interface? It has a usb and audio jack on the inside of the center console. Does this mean that it is ipod ready? (I've always had Zunes..). I haven't tried a usb drive with mp3's yet either. thanks
