Ipod help for 520d M Sport
#1
Hi all
I'm new here and have read alot of the existing posts regarding ipod connections but it seems most people have sat nav/media pack in there cars, the car i'm getting doesn't and i'm wondering if this affects my options based on the idrive software available etc. Im not sure of the production week of my car but it is a 177bhp engine and has cd changer prep.
I am currently using the aux input but i want the selection functions on the steering wheel if possible
Any help would be really apreciated
Ben

if you have CDC (cd changer) then a software update and retrofit will make the BMW iPod adapter work. I do not have NAV-CCC, and my Single CD slot does not play MP3 CD but my iDrive does play iPod via the CDC emulator of BMW ipod interface.

Is this correct or am i way off the mark?
Thanks

you are correct, the CDC MOST Cable will go into the iPod Adapter and another cable will connect with your iPod in the dash. Buy the Unit, do the install on your own , its very easy, no need to open the dash as it says on the TIS, and just take it to the dealer for ipod most retrofit, they wont charge more than $100-$140
