Hi all,

I know this has definatley been done to death, but i cant really find what im looking for using search.

I have just brought a late 04 5 series. It has Business nav. I want to be able to use my ipod, as the navi hogs the cd player if you want to use it. How do i go about doing this????? I currently have one of these in my other car http://www.harmankardon.com/drive-1/default_dp1.aspx
Is there a way of hooking one up to the stero? Does the idrive have an aux to do this?
Or, is there a way to (inexpensively) hook it up to the idrive itself so its controlable on screen???

Thanks guys!

Ok, so i've had a read around, and been looking at the Dension 500.

1. Does anyone know if installing this will make my ipod controlable on idrive?
2. Can it be installed on my system - 2004 E60 with Business Navi - no changer - and will it interfere with the Nav and BT
3. Is it easy to do? Does anyone have a step by step complete idiot guide????

Any help will be greatly appriciated, as i will be using navi ofter, which of course means im stuck with just listening to radio!!

Thanks guys!

Antpal Hi

I don't have a definitive answer for you, just my experience.

I have a 2005 E60 with ProfNav. It did not play MP3 via the CDC or single CD.

I had the BMW iPOD fitted to include updating the iDrive software. I can now control the iPOD via iDrive. It may be that if you don't have the CDC then it may cost more.

Call your dealer and ask them, then you will know what can be done and how much it will cost. You can then start to compare the other options such as the Dension.

Good Luck

Alan

Ok thanks for that. Im not sure what type of system it is as i havent picked it up yet - all i know is its business navi!!!

Do you know exactly what the fitting of the ipod kit from BMW costs and how much it costs in the UK (im in germany where its likely to be much more pricey, but a guide would be nice!)????

Thanks again
