Thumbs up

Hello, I have an LCI 525d on order and I can still change options (soon I won't be able to change). So I'm asking what interior trim would suit the car best? Exterior is Jet Black and interior is black leatherette.

I left brushed aluminium/grey/alucube trims outside the poll, because to me they have a cheaper look. Also, the new black trim is out of question, black/black/black car would be too much for me. So, these three choices in the poll are the only real options for me.

I'm aware that Bamboo trim is quite dark. I have seen pictures of new X5 with the trim, but it would be nice to get some pictures presenting E60 with the trim.. Maybe I have to wait for the new brochure to come out.

Thanks!

This may be a variance due to market but I haven't seen a light walnut. The light wood color that the U.S. and Germany gets is poplar.

Meant to also say, that I have light poplar now and probably will get this in my LCI 550i.

Well, I would vote for light poplar. It's not that light and it provides a much needed break with all the black.

I guess I will go with Bamboo and hope that the interior won't be too dark.

I have dark poplar on beige dakota now and while that looks amazing, I would not have chosen the poplar (light or dark) if I had a black interior. Instead, I would opt for Aluminium for that sporty look or Piano Black for an elegant all black look. I wish Birds Eye Maple trim still was an option for the 5-series though. It looks absolutely stunning in a black interior (seen it in an E34 540i).

Trust your instincts and if you don't want an all dark interior, stay away from Bamboo and dark poplar. You really should look at the various trim options in real life in a car with black interior, before you make up your mind. I spent a lot of time visiting different dealers to check out different interior combos on new and used cars before I finally made up my mind.

I have gone for the black high gloss (much cheaper than the piano black from previous) I have seen it in an e90 and it looks stunning. I had a high gloss black trim in an Audi S4 with black leather and it looks very very cool - if you can wait a week I will post pics of mine - Carbon Black on Black with High Gloss Black Trim........at the end of the day though, the best advice is given above - get out and see the various colour combinations in the flesh, you are going to have to life with the choice after all
