Interior Light Malfunction?

My Ride: Silver/Grey E60
My car was sitting in my garage with all the doors unlocked... when I opened the passenger door the entire cabin stayed dark. Anyone else experience this?
None of my setting have been changed in the i-drive.

My Ride: 2006 Titanium Silver 550i, with all the bells and whistles!!
battery saving feature maybe? try this... turn on the interior light and hold the interior light switch for 5 seconds....
There is an option that lets you turn off the automatic interior lights when you open the door or unlock

I pushed the dome light button and relocked the doors... everything seems to be working fine again. Maybe it was just one of those strange things that happens, you know how these cars have a mind of their own!
