So my car got backed into the other day, and I went to get the estimate today. They said that my bumper needed to be replaced, which was pretty obvious since it had a giant whole in it, but they also said that they needed to replace my driver side headlight. Now I'm worried that if I get that headlight replaced it's going to make my car look off w/ 1 new headlight and 1 old one.

Does anybody know if insurance will cover getting both headlights replaced? Any other suggestions on what I should do? I really don't want to fork out the $$$ for an extra headlight.

Oh yeah, I have a 07 530i (w/ the sports package )

Insurance is only meant to put you back in the position that you were before the accident. They will replace only the headlights damaged during the accident. You will have to replace the other one on your own, if it looks dirty. Talk to your SA and see if he'll cut you a great deal on it.

Mine was replaced under warranty and each of them cost $1300.00.

I agree with sholaesq, the insurance will only cover what was damaged. I wouldn't think that the difference in such a new car would be all that noticeable, unless you point it out to someone. I'd try to see if I could get Mtech bumper instead. G/L
