Hello All,
Hopefully someone can help...e60, 2005 525d UK car
Noticed that on occasion that some of the dials on the instrument cluster take a while to come to life once the car is fired up. The digital display works fine, as do the dash lights. I can hear a clicking sound from around/behind the cluster that increases frequency, then after a minute or so, the needles move from the rest position and all is OK again.
What could this be?

Am afraid will likely need a trip to dealer to do a software upgrade/and or fix as this sounds similar to my "disease" last year, if you search for "possessed cluster" here or google you should find some links from my chagrin last year and I tried for 6 months to fix it myself and finally took a trip to my local dealer and paid the $300 to get it fixed no parts just a software fix.
Never found the reason for it bu suspect low battery volts will screw up some of the modules in the car.
good luck!
