================================================== ======
The product is made in Estonia using Chinese PCB boards from: MetInfo enterprise content manager system | MetInfo CMS-
the LED-SMD (yellow) bulb is an unknown manufacturer.
================================================== ===
Installation procedure:
Take your time, the job isn't difficult, but one slip of the tool and you can rip your headliner or break a tab on the plastic light lens.
Give yourself 30 minutes, and you'll be done, so don't rush it.
1. Watch this video by PrecisionLED for your particular model: BMW 5 Series (E60/E61) - BMW - How-to Videos
2. Use either their tools (that's what I used) Professional Trim Tool Set
or a similar set of nylon tools from another supplier. (I don't recommend a screw driver with electrical tape over the tip but some use that option.)
3. Wear a pair of nytril or latex gloves to keep skin oil off of the bulb surface
4. Now, using the proper nylon tool, and following the video, proceed to replace your bulbs. I started at the front overhead.
5. Use the video instruction to bring the light unit down.
6. In the overhead unit, turn the bulb holder a 1/4 turn to release.
7. Grab the bulb and pull it straight back, reinsert in the same manner
8. Follow the video to reinstall the light units back into position.
9. On the lower door (puddle lights) units; again watch the video
10. Make sure when you install the new stick type bulb that the yellow portion points downward towards the ground.
11. That's it.
Before and After: (Footwell lights are old bulbs)

My impression while taking these photos is that the overhead dome lights should not be a blinding output. So, I think for overhead, BMW got it right. You can look at the lens while it's lit and not be blinded. Afterall, your face is within inches of the dome light bulb so keep that in mind. Having people turn away because its blinding is not a good idea.
The reading lights are the same bulb as the dome and I would have liked to see those somewhat brighter as they point down towards your lap. The puddle light output seems very good and sufficiently bright.
Overall, the BMW kit is not going to set any light output records by any stretch. It is marginally brighter than the OEM bulbs, but I think BMW is attempting to prevent a blinding light source within the cab of the car for safety reasons.
I've ordered Putco Festoon bulbs for the footwell and license plate areas.
I'll let you know when they arrive.
