Info/I drive display, brightness adjustable?
#1
Maybe it's my imaignation that's it's not as bright as before. Did I adjust it? Or does it simply adjust with the rheostat for the instrument cluster? I know, I will RTFM as soon as I dig it out from the move...thanks for your help.

Sometimes I have noticed where the display does not appear as bright as normal when I first power the car up at night. Also, not sure if it compensates for night/day.

Very noticable ambient light adjustment as well. Really evident in my local area where I have a lot of big oaks and the brightness changes quite abit as I go in and out of shade on a cloudy day.

Maybe that's it..it has been quite cold and overcast here, and I just backed it out of the garage after 4or 5 days of sleep...I will check the menu for brightness settings though..thanks.

The dashboard rheostat physically and manually adjusts the overall brightness level of the display and all dashboard gauges. You'll also notice a little hole in the bottom middle of the display screen for automatic daylight nighttime adjustment as well. Through the Idrive menu you can also adjust the LCD display (or HUD display) brightness as well.
Like most LCD displays, I'd also suspect some dimness would be caused by cooler/cold weather.

Just to remind everyone how cool our car is, did you know that the display is heated to keep it working in cold temperatures?
They think of everything, don't they?
