individual e60 lifespan

200000mls is 321869kms, thats much... very much. I've never kept a BMW over 80000kms. I think it's around there it loses it's 'new car feeling'. The current one will go after 58000kms, while it's still worth a little money. I don't doubt it will run like a clock for much longer than that.

200 k?

I'm at 72k, and it just started to loosen up. 400k should not be a problem at all.
It might need a few new injectors and such, but apart from that it shouldn't be a problem.

Nowdays, any car (engine) can go 100k miles with proper maintenance.

ya I think if you properly maintain your car you should have no prob hitting the 200k mark.. I've had mine sine Sept. 04 and just today I hit 30k.. I was dreading the day and it finally arrived..

BMW engines are well known for being some of the best in the business in terms of longevity and design...I guess we will see how the newer ones do in time.

Ach..., what you need to do is to kiss your car in the morning before driving off to work, and then give it a real hug when it's time for bed. Nothing beats kissing 'n cuddling when it comes to maintenance of a woman's love!

Losing the "new car feeling"?

Thats worrying. Do you mean it won't handle or be as composed as BMW's are when new?
