i just purchased a 530i sport with active steering and i need to replace 2 rear tires. As soon as i got it back from the shop today i went around 70 on the highway and i began to notice as i changed lanes going to the left the car felt like the back end would become loose and lose control. It felt that there was so much body roll, but when i went to the right it was fine. Can anyone explain this PLEASE? If you need more information please ask me..THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!

the only time I felt the same situation you described is when I loss air in my rear tire(soft)so if you make a lane change to your right and its okay, but to your left its like loose its probably the right rear tire has low air preasure.let me know what it turns out.

Sounds scary

Must have something to do with tire pressures or wheel installation.

Go back to the shop at once.

had this happen a while back when I was young with my parents minivan, turned out that when it was in earlier that day getting brakes looked at the tech didn't torque the lug nuts only hand tightened them. so as the went on the lugs loosened and I got the same type of driving response that you are describing.

Sounds like you've got some really loose lug nuts, probably on the passenger side where the pressure would be when turning left. Better get that thing back to the shop before you end up with a wheel passing you on the highway.

But you did change only the rear tires, didn't you?

I really wonder how they could have messed up the rear axel so bad

Seems that you have to take your car to the dealers / or where you purchased it from
The car may have already been broken when you bought it.

Yes it could be the alignment now that pressures and lug nuts have been checked. I hope its something simple. Its possible the previous owner curbed a rim and knocked the alignment off.

It should not feel like that at all.

did you go to those "tire center"? some of these dude are idiots or just be there get paid to fuck you up. you better keep your eye on your car at all time when they are working on it. they can do any "bad" thing possible that is out of your imaginations.

you better take your car to dealer and have them look at it before you serious thing happen.
