The opportunity to test my 400 mile 535d M Sport against my business partners Subaru STI on the motorway presented itself today as we left one off our sites in Manchester to get to the pub for the England game. He has no axe to grind with my Beemer and we were in contact all the way down the M56. On my signal we gave them the full beans at 80 mph and he could'nt get away, we coasted alongside each other and did the 1 2 3 countdown at 40 mph leaving a roadworks by Chester and we were side by side untill 130 mph when I started to gain the lead ( traffic slowed us down ) At the traffic light drag test the STI gained a car length and maintained it till we realised we were travelling at well over twice the limit with the Beemer a scant 2 metres behind and both eased of the GO pedal. After coming from a EVO VIII I am well happy, bring on the DMS remap.

I had my 535d sorted by those boys at DMS. I can't explain what a great car this is. In the real world it's quicker than just about anything as it will take off like a rocket at any revs. Even if someone is in an M5 or something of the same power unless they are in the right gear they will be blown away before they mess about changing down etc. Plus you can drive it hard and still get over 30mpg. Done 7000 miles in mine now and it has loosened up nicely.

M3>535d - Hi,...

Hi! I just saw your car. Very nice ! I plan to also do the quad exhausts and bumper on mine. May i ask u a few questions?

1. Where did u do the xhaust conversion and bumper change? can i do it myself & buy the bumper?

2. What type of wheels do you have? Did you have to roll your wheel arches?

3. did u have a performance drop after changing your wheels?

hope to hear from u soon.
