I was looking through an online car sales website (mobile.de) and stumbled across this Imola Red E60 Edition Sport.
Its the first one I have found pictures of -- haven't seen any on the BMW (Used Car) website yet.
This Edition Sport is one of the new "Edition" models that BMW has release in Europe for 2008. More details are in this thread. Imola Red and Lemans Blue are the two new colours offered exclusively with the Edition Sport.
I thought (and had hoped) that Imola Red would be a little darker -- it looks different to the Imola Red E39 M5 in the picture below -- or is just the way the colour looks under different light
What do you think -- does it suite the E60...??

BMW bigger sedans tend to be business so the red looks funny
It is meant to appear serious and solid. I can imagine red Audi S6, not BMW E60 or Lexus GS or bigger. On the other hand, Imola Red is a beautiful color on a 3-series, Z-series.
Also can you imagine 6-series is Imola Red?

I like red cars but this is the wrong shade for the E60. The Indy red that is offered on the M5 is much more tasteful. The merlot offered on the MB CLS 550 is also very nice.

Interesting replies and the general consensus is
I agree Red doesn't work well with the 5er, but have seen a few Indianapolis Red M5 pics that looked pretty good and there is a Barbera Red E60 M-sport near me which also looks pretty good. However, I'm still not feeling that Red on a 5er though!
As Doc Horror wrote... why?? Of all the colours they could have picked, why this one? Is red becoming a new trend colour or why would they do this?
If they wanted something different, they could have brought in another variant of white (metalic or with some hints of grey in it), or something similar to that Olivin Green, or better still another one of the Individual black colours which change colour under sunlight like Carbon Black. They should have just asked us to set up a Poll
