I'm in a similar situation. Since last week my steering wheel had a slight vibration to it betweent he speeds 60 - 70 mph.. I finally called BMW to take a look at it today and the SA called me back telling me all 4 rims 124 style 18" are bent. The car only has 8300 miles on it! When I first took delivery of the car my CA asked if I wanted tire and wheel insurance since I have the sports package for $2K.. I thought to myself well if I ever needed it I would probably pay that much for all four rims and tires so I said no.. lol.

So I had the service guy go ahead and replace all 4 rims with new ones for $2,350... fronts are $380 x 2, rears $405 x 2, alighnment is $270, wheel weights is $40, valves are $27 x 4, balance is $240. Pretty pricey for having a sports packaged 18" rims I admit that I did hit my share of few potholes here in NYC but didn't realize how weak these rims are to bend...

Jesus.. they didn't offer to help you at all? After 8300 miles? That's pretty crazy.. the wheels should have some sort of coverage. Sorry to hear what happened.

Damn Kzang - that sucks too. I'm going to go for aftermarket wheels of some sort, still looking though.

My wife was driving my car while I was out of town and hit a pothole. It bent both passenger wheels so bad that the tires wouldn't hold any air. I took my wheels to a place called Kwicksilver and they fixed the wheels like new for $130. They have locations all over the country. It's been about 6 months since then and I don't have any vibration at all.

may i suggest Miro 111's as well as VMR 710's to the beyerns

good looking wheels for the price. i'm actually buying a set of miro 111's for my m5 for the winters since they are cheap enough to buy replacements if i destroy them like i did this winter.

Cool, I'll look them up. Like the .50 cal rounds around the neck man. What's your MOS? I'm an artillery guy, been intel and a forward observer too though.

I kinda like the lip of the beyern's, and I've read that they are much stronger (and heavier which i don't like) than other wheels. I don't want to end up bending more wheels.

Curious, are you just proposing them as alternatives or do you think they are better, and if so, why.

I'm in the Air Force. My AFSC is 3E072 which is Electrical Power Production. I usually deploy with the Army which explains the .50 cal rounds and all the ACU gear. I am stationed at Pope AFB/Ft Bragg. Are you active duty?

I can tell you for a fact that my 2008 550i does not have spacers on my 172 wheels.

Def think the beyerns are a bit stronger, I was just suggesting cheaper options that are popular among the e60 community. You can get a full set of staggered miros for under 1000 shipped brand new.
