My Ride: 2006 525XI, Jet black on Dakota beige. Premium and winter packages. I consider myself a purist and intend to keep my car absolutely stock and shiny.

Hello, everybody. I've been back from the China trip for a little while, but had to iron out a whole bunch of things before I was able to post.
As you probably know, I met many of our HK forum members. The handles I remember most are Pinguhk, MarkHK, derrific, keith84_uk, Small Tomato, and Conway. My apologies to the others for not remembering the names. It all went by so fast, everything is in a blur.
Anyway, on March 12, Pinguhk organized a meet that was well attended and comprehensive. We began the evening by going to a real Hong Kong restaurant, far enough away from the tourist traps. I could tell that I was the only tourist there. The food was great, and the company was even better. The restaurant is famous for its roasted goose and le tme say that it did not let me down. The goose was incredibly tasty and was cooked to perfection.
We then went to a big parking lot where many, many BMWs and some high end non-BMW cars joined us. That night I had the privilege of riding in PinguHK, MarkHK, and Derrific's cars. Derrific's car is a real head turner. You just don't see an E60 quite like that and you can't help but turn your head when you see it. It's gorgeous.
I noticed that the HK members are very close and they share a genuine love of their E60's. Just about all of the E60's I saw had some form of mod or another (with a few exceptions) and the group is trying to convince Pingu to replace his wheels by referring to his present setup as "donuts." I thought that was hilarious. I look forward to seeing what wheel setup Pingu will end up getting.
I had a great time during my two days in HK, I even visited Disneyland. HK is very high on my list of places to return to and enjoy for at least a full 7 days. The city is beautiful, full of people, very safe, very well organized and a true cosmopolitan beauty. Not speaking Cantonese is not an issue. Most people (especially younger people) speak English in one form or another. My 75 yr. old taxi driver spoke very good English and I was even able to joke with him.

You made me feel very welcome and showed me a beautiful side of HK I would have most certainly missed, if I were on my own. Until next time:
