I always saw the Illum door sills as an option to purchase for my car at the dealer ship but anytime I asked about them they shunned me away with a "ummm it'll take 6 weeks to order and install" or "yeah if is not pre installed by the factory it'll cost 2,000+$" Personally I think they are fools who do not do their occupations very well.

But the truth of the fact is I've never seen them installed on an e60 So if anyone has that feature can you comment if its worth getting or if it is exceptionally nice. If it is I'll go in on it and buy it (if I can get it from a fellow member)

cheers!

Rab

i believe my car has this. i noticed a low light pulling into my garage the other day. my garage was pitch black, but when i opened the door, i saw this glow of light coming from under the door. it's a nice feature. let's you make sure you're not stepping on anything when you get out of your car. i can take pictures if you want.

My bad. Totally not what I was thinking. Although it looks pretty cool to have the "BMW" illuminate like that, but it looks like a lot of work!
