Damn, what a disappointment. I love this car. Any advice on what i should tell the dealership when I go in on Monday? I just want to get this issue resolved. BTW, is there a time period for the lemon law effect?

as for the dealership, just tell the SA that your vehicle is having a delayed reaction when you start the vehicle. Make sure you tell them it is HPFP related.

Be sure to check the lemon laws for your particular state if thats the route you are going to go. Each state has different policies on lemons. Usually the vehicle has to have the same defect/problem within a certain timeframe. The other is if the dealer has the vehicle for a certian period of time trying to repair the problem and is still unable to fix it. However, for peace of mind, yes bring it to the dealer and see what they can find. I used to be a BMW tech, and in my experience, letting the vehicle sit for extended periods did cause a rough/delayed start. However, without physically seeing/driving the car, I can't make a clear cut diagnosis.

I will be bringing in my car for service monday. I just want the problem fixed. Not trying to return my car at all. Paulie, is it unusual if I get a delayed start like 3x a week in the winter time from the cold weather? The delayed start didn't happen in the summer time. Thanks for your input

is the delayed start when you start it first thing in the morning? or does it do it throughout the day? 1st time in the morning, not all that unusual. But if it is doing it even when the engine is warmed up, it could be an indicator of a progressing problem

1st start in the morning especially in cold temps can cause a slight delay before the engine fires up. the fuel mixture has to be slightly richer when cold to get fired up. doesn't hurt to have it checked though
