funny how when you get a newer car and find that it has a lot of new options you've never used before, you say "I don't really need this or that". But then, few weeks into the car and I personally usually find myself using every nook and cranny of my options list. The Headlight washer - love them. Automtic wipers - works for me now! Cruise control - off the hook. Flashers - awesome. Heated steering wheel - a MUST MUST MUST in a cold climate...
...but there comes a time in every e60 driver's life when he or she realizes that the damned run-flat tires are simply crap
so that's what I'm gonna get rid of as soon as these come to their natural conclusion

Ahh, yes, practical advice indeed.
Especially when you're in the middle of an 850 mile road trip, doing 90 miles an hour at 2:00 AM.. Yes, shutting my headlights off so that I can clean my windshield definitely seems a prudent move.
BenAnd - where's the fuse (which one), and does it control anything else? Also, will that cause any errors or warnings?

You can take out the fuse , without "loosing" anything else , or risc getting a error message , witch "fuse" no. it is I can't just remember , but is one of the fuse's located in the glove compartment ( a green 30 Amp fuse )

Oh that reminds me, I would also never want to lose my awesome run-flat tyres. After seeing how fantastic they were on that German TV Show where they tested them, I'm a run-flat dude all the way from now on.

cant believe alot of you don't use cruise control, id go mad without cruise, especially on motorways, just set it to around 90 and sit back and relax, i think id speed alot more without cruise aswel. I hardly use heated seats. but if i could use anything it would be the phone cradle in the armrest, i have an iphone which doesn't fit so its useless. wouldn't mind losing the swirl flaps either
its been worrying me lately after reading all the posts on here.

So I almost never use the headlight washers. Just spray a couple of short times and manually operate the wipers.
The light washers only come on if you spray for a couple of seconds!
Anyway, I could live without any feature. My last 5 even missed the Pro sat nav (it had the small navi) and the luxury a/c, but it's al about driving pleasure!
I would definetely miss the auto trans, though....

Hey... Has anyone tried just disconnecting the supply lines to them? Like so they TRY to function, but can't get any fluid? Hrmmm....
Good idea: someone should try and post a DIY

in my experiance of UK motorways, you cant use cruse control set at any speed, because of traffic and road works.
