Unfortunately, that has always been the case. Idrive is not covered under cpo warranty.

There is a way around this. A friend of mine had a CPO 7 series, and his I-drive failed. He made the argument that since it controls climate control functions (vent settings, ventilated/heated seats etc.), that it was also a part of the climate control system. He bitched to the service manager and BMW NA and they covered it for the $50.00 deductable. Try to go this route and see if it works.

Retired: 2002 325I, Titanium silver on black leather. Premium package. Absolutely stock and proud of it.

+1,000,000. This is exactly what I would do. Talking to the manager is a definite must.

I have a feeling they'll disassociate the climate from iDrive to avoid covering iDrive.

You know what they say? If you bend over, you get fu@#ed. This post is a good lesson. Never back down. Fight for yourself or people will walk all over you.

yea i think they just told me that to see if they could get me to pay for it. but SA make money weither it's warranty work or not, so you would think they would try to get warranty to cover it that way they know their going to get paid where as the owner may not want to pay/
