Hmmmmm...

Well, after two days i picked my car up and the idrive menu system looks different. Have a look at the pics and tell me if this looks like
the latest?

I have noticed two things:

1) I still cannot play MP3's (what it went in for), guess I heading back in tomorrow!

2) My Park Assistance seems to be not configured correctly. Has any body experienced this?

Cheers

Good question as I am a Jan '04 build and thought I couldn't get MP3 play!
Maybe I was misleading you, guys! I had a CD burnt with MP3 files as music CD. I have not paid attention what file format it has once it is burned as a music CD. Right now, I use my iPod...

Sorry...

...so you can play MP3's even if you don't have NAV (basing by your sig)?
Yes, I don't have the NAV, but I have Logic7 - maybe that's why. Again, sorry for the confusion! It was MP3 files burnt on a CD as a music CD....

Hey

Went back to the dealer today, I have software version 26. something. Its been out for a couple of weeks apparently. They have no idea why I am unable to play MP3's.

FRUSTRATING!

Cheers

maybe you burned the disc wrong? When they did my mp3 retrofit, the disc I brought with me didn't work.. I asked them to test it on a late model 2007 E60 and it also didn't work.. went home and burnt me a new disc and all has been fine

As far as I've been told, the software upgrade consists of several modules. The modules controls different stuff in the car. It might be that your dealer has only upgraded the modules already installed in your car, or maybe just some of them. I was told that the MP3 abilty must be chosen prior to the upgrade, and is a one of the many modules that is part of a software upgrade.

I've had four upgrades, and for a couple of them I had to revisit the dealer because of incompabilty issues between the modules. I also had to upgrade my towing "controller" to be able to upgrade to "IPOD ready".

My last upgrade, v25, I had to to do a full upgrade, all modules upgraded.

Hey Guys

Just thought I would let you know about my idrive update. The upshot is I am now running 26.2. I am unable to play MP3 on my single player or the changer. I gave a copy of the SIB's floating around this website to my dealer, describing how to make MP3 go and the response was, 'we have done everything we know about to enable MP3 playback, sorry we are unable to make this work'.

I am beginning to think it may have something to do with the fact that my car has come from Japan and perhaps different markets have different capabilties.

My dealer seems convinced they can get my Ipod operating through the idrive system... hmmm, we'll see??

Cheers
