Does everyone's iDrive take ages to boot up after you've started the car? Mine seems to take forever and also takes plenty of time before I can hear the radio/CD?

It is a known problem. Should be fixed with version 15 though.

Should be fixed w/ ver. 15, was on mine, but for those w/ NAV, results have been mixed. I don't have NAV and mine is on instantly now. Previously used to take 10-20 seconds...

This was not fixed with Version 15. The boot time is about the same.

is it just imagination or does it takes loger time to boot up on cold mornings (Swedish winter...)? Mine sometimes takes 30-40 sec to boot up. I just have the BMW logo on the display that time. It's pretty annoying, the PDC is worthless for me those early cold mornings, it wakes up just when i'm out on the street. Mayby my car is just like myself, no early bird...

I am sure its far colder on Sweden than in Southern California. I have the same symptom. It also take as long as 5 seconds for the seat belt warning to go off after you are buckled in.

It takes mine about 5 seconds to boot when the weather is warm, 10 - 20 seconds when it is cooler.
