Hi,

I'm new to this site so I'm sorry if you've all heard this before, but the idrive unit has stopped being of any use, as when you push it to 'enter' so to speak it does nothing and the knob doesn't move down. I assume I will need to remove the control unit from the centre console, but I hae no idea how to, anyone got any ideas on how to do this?
Regards

might just be a loose connection under the knob itself??

You can try to reset the idrive. If it is a CCC drive, 3 button reset - holding down the 2 eject buttons and press the round knob on the unit.

If you have to remove, Wood trim removal link

I would recommend skipping the first step, since you will scratch your trim trying to insert the screwdriver. Once you've pulled the trim off, you can reach out from the back and unclip the door lock/hazard switch by hand.

Thanks for the replies, but it is the main wheel unit I need to remove, not the screen area. sorry if i wasw a little vage, checked under the knob cover for a loose connection and I can't see anything apart from a lumb of plastic that is the control wheel.

Hi man, check this guide i made a few months back:

https://5series.net/forums/topic/943...-change-guide/

I stripped all the centre console and dash to change the trim, the idrive is just screwed into place once you use the guide to remove the trim surrounding that and the gearstick.

Good Luck
