I guess it was too good to be true (no problems until today). I've got something like 300 miles on my new 530xi (November 2005 build). Starting today, every time I drive now, the iDrive just reboots -- over and over and over and over again. Listening to NPR on the way home from work was fun. I could only get about 90 seconds of radio time before iDrive would reboot. I could navigate around in iDrive for about 60 seconds after boot. After that, 30 seconds of no control followed by a black screen, then BMW logo, then the nag screen.
Anyone seen this one before?
I'm scheduled to drop it off on Friday...

Hey Robert......unfortunately there are sometime small gliches to make you nuts, but your right on top of things by making that trip to the dealer. I'm sure they will have your baby running in ship shape form.
Congrats on your car. Have a little patience. I think it has happen to a good number of people, it happened to me within the first 700 miles, the FTM screen on the idrive kept coming on, I went back and within 20 minutes, problem gone.

Try manually rebooting. Press mute, CD eject & DVD eject at the same time & hold for a few seconds (like control/alt/delete on a PC).

Actually, it is based on the Automotive version of Win CE. Now will this information prevent you from getting into your car again?

Yes--mute = press volume button.
It's Windows CE based...
