Idrive reboots - but only when it is warm out
I assume my idrive is going to need replaced. However I noticed during winter it works fine. Then it warmed up again this Spring, and it now sometimes reboots several times at startup.
Is there something I should check that is blocking air?
Is there a fan that could have a fuse out, or cooling fan I need to check?
Or do you think it doesn't matter if its warm or not, it's just going bad.
I'd hate to replace the whole thing if it is something simple regarding cooling instead.

Had the same issue. This rebooting is related to the fan that is at the rear of the iDrive housing is not working. If not, it can be replaced. Officially, BMW will replace the complete iDrive unit.
