iDrive addicted
So I've been in the market for a 545 (or maybe 550 if I can wait that long and BMW in fact introduces a re-badged 5er), and just as luck would have it a buddy of mine was travelling for the weekend and I was given permission to "car sit" his 530i.
I drove the car for 2 full days. After about 20 minutes I got pretty acclimated to all the nuances of iDrive. After half a day, it became second nature. After a full day, I was really enjoying it. After 2 full days, I'm not sure I could live without it.
I'm now back in my M3 and feel lost with an iDrive nob ... I instinctively reach across with my left hand looking for the knob, but only find my cupholders ...
Just thought I'd share my 0.02.

Now, to figure out on a color for the new 5er ...
I've had my I-drive (with a 530i wrapped around it) for just a week now. It seems like such an obvious and essential element of an automobile now. I too, must confess my addition.
