Default IBS Question

The IBS sensor on my 2005 530d has had it, instead of buying brand new I'm looking at buying a used part, does it have to be the older ibs which my car has or can I put in a newer ibs which BMW modified on later models?
Also which part number would it be?
Thanks

Would suggest you go to: realoem.com Enter your vin number and get to the IBS. This will first, provide you the BMW part number that was used when your car was assembled and secondly, the superseded part numbers that can be used on your vehicle.

Disconnect it and never look back. Best thing that I ever did on mine. Just say no to IBS

I agree. That's what I did. It was causing an airbag light for me and I just disconnected it and cleared the code.
