At least you can take an M5 around a corner faster than 10mph

You have to come to a complete stop before you can go around a corner in the viper
The Viper typically averages close to 1G on lateral acceleration tests... Furthermore, the Viper ACR, which is a production model and street legal, currently holds the second fastest Nurburgring lap time for a production vehicle. The standard SRT-10 Viper is also 14 seconds quicker around the 'Ring than the M5...

I don't think the Viper would make a good daily driver - but it is astonishingly fast and it gives up absolutely nothing in the corners to the M5...

After owning 530 for 20 months now, I am kind of getting tired of my car to be frank.

I have kept on adding "accessories" to the car for more excitement, but recently i lost interest.

so I went to a car dealer today. (oh, I didn't buy one though)

I tried out M5 and Viper SRT10.

one word: WOW.

Viper was too much of a car for me, and I couldn't see anything (visibility sucked)....it wouldn't be practical for daily use, so i gave up.

I tried out M5...I really envy you, m5 owners!!!
M5 was a beast (It was the first time I got in M5)

I drove back home in my 530, and it felt like i was driving a Pinto.

man, weather in LA is so nice today

Great post! Love the end.

No question that on a racetrack, the Viper can run circles around the M5 and, for that matter, almost any other non race-car on the road. I would love one for a second car as a toy. For a daily driver, all of the car mags say that it's a total non-starter as it is very very rough, uncomfortable and crude.

I am moving back to east coast in a month, so i am not sure if M5 or any RWD can do well in east coast weather.

Do you guys in east coast drive e60 during winter time, or own a winter car?
550i in Pittsburgh is fine with good set of snow tires & rims...will never get AWD bimmer again. Where you moving to?

I'm curious as to why you wouldn't get an AWD bimmer? I've never driven one before I don't know whats its like.

Thanks.

No Sport or ARS suspension with AWD...and it rides high like an SUV, wheel options are limited, and it's not necessary around here.
