Try the BMW leather cleaner / conditioner products. That should keep the original smell going.

Thanks for the "new car" tips, but that's not what I'm wanting. My car smells just fine. There's nothing I'm trying to hide or mask.

I've tried a few of these cleaners, fresheners and conditioners that you're meant to apply to the leather, but they don't do anything useful.

What I'm looking for is a real way of getting it back. I think buying the right type of leather (that smells the strongest) and laying a few pieces under the seats or on the back seat. I'm just not sure what type it would be or where to get it.
As they say on the one of the pages I posted, the methods have cahnged and leather doesn't really smell today.
What you smell is artificial.

That new car spray applies the new leather smell to the car.

When you take a look at the used cars at the dealerships, they smell as new... Guess why...

I don't think there's any way of getting the smell back.

Not even when I turn the vents on in my seats I can smell the leather anymore...

It smells, but not as new. It smells as if you put cleaner on the seats.

Seriously...

Seems like y'all are thinking that these cleaners/conditioners/sprays are the only option. Doesn't anyone think my idea of buying some bits of newer leather and hiding it under the seats till it runs out of smell is a good idea too? These places that re-cover car seats and furniture have bits that are no good to them due to shape or scratches. I just can't find a bit with a strong enough whiff. Hoped somebody would say something like "what you need is Buffalo leather, that's the strongest smell" and I'd get me a couple of square feet of that. The off-cuts I got last week didn't seem to do any good.
