This is the same part number I saw mentioned on a MINI forum. It only charges the phone and allows hands free.

a Regular ipod adapter on the LCI's and blue tooth are all you need, you can say no to the airplane mode when the warning comes up. That is what I've been doing since day 1.
I still don't under stand the Smart phone prep, and then having to buy a dock cradle. I've tried 2-3 different smart phones just fine , that is unless BMW purposely Disabled it on the 09-10's

"Sure but us without an LCI and no ipod adapter, this is a miles better system (if it works) we would be paying for the adapter + software updates!!"
+1
"a Regular ipod adapter on the LCI's and blue tooth are all you need"
i hope it can work on pre-LCI's also. It says something about USB on that website but at the same time it says that it compatible with all e60 models.
Well let's see if someone proves that it works then i'm buying one. Even if it requires reprogramming. It's cool that it's right in the armrest ond plays music from the phone..

I'm curious what it does exactly. Does it replace the ipod adapter or not?

Did anyone use it before (especially on pre-lci cars)? and if so, what else is required to get it to work?
