This is a great forum.... within a week of getting my car... all my doors start creaking at very slow speeds..... do a quick search on here and I was even able to find the BMW bulletin detailing the problem...

Time to book in my car for 4 new door seals... what I can't believe is that my car was built in June 2005 and they don't appear to have fitted the new seals...

Speaking of noises - has anyone had trouble with rattling buttons on the steering wheel? I've had them replaced once already (I've only had the car for 2 months) and but the new ones are again vibrating whenever the road is anything but glass-smooth - I've had many "cheap" cars and never exerpienced this before... why doesn't BMW use "proven button technology"?

Very strange. It sounds like BMW has fixed it after Jan 05.

Keep me updated on the Rear Parcel shelf rattle... i'm waiting till my next service to get that fixed but I want to be armed with info going in. I hate the "we cannot duplicate the problem" answer so if u tell them how to fix it and you sound like you know what you're talking about they'll BS you less.

Got the car back today & here's the update:
~Door seal problem - dealer ordered new seals & will fit whenever I want to take the car in.
~Steering knock - dealer replaced the steering spindle - only drove the car 7kms & knock seems to be gone - will continue to monitor.
~Rear parcel shelf rattle - 90% cured but I think there is still some rattle - need to drive more tomorrow.

You lucky door seal guys, had my replaced with the new seals, and it squeaks even worse. Dealer decied to opne a PUMA case. I'll keep you guys updated. Seats are squeaky, tranny is weird in steptronic mode, pass. air bag sensor on even with 130 lbs adult sitting in it...and the list of problems just continue.
