i just noticed this bee in my pass side tail light, my dealer said its not covered by waranty because the tail light is sealed which i replied "well then how the hell did it get in there". and now im gettin a new tail light

Lots of reports of insects getting into the tail light there were a few aout flies in there...

Sure its sealed? What about the part where you insert the bulb into the housing? It can enter there when the bulb is out.

Does anyone know how to get the tailight out, if so a DIY would be helpful.

My Ride: '04 545iS 6 spd, bought new via eBay, 11/05; Blk/Gry, Cold, L7, PDC, BMW Rear seatcover for pets. First "Bumwa" was a new 1971 2002. High performance 5s since 1987. Beamer motorcycles too, currently on an 07 BMW K1200 GT; also a Moto Guzzi 1000 SP III.

Amusing, but I think I might have saved my warranty dealer-pressure tactic for something more serious. Mine had condensation droplets when delivered. They are not that sealed, from inside.

I had one in my 330's tail light recently and it was easy to get out. I just pulled the bulb panel out (like I was going to change a bulb) and stuck my dustbuster up to the hole with a narrow attachment on it. It was of course too wide to fit through the bulb hole, but I just wrapped my hand around the opening to create somewhat of a seal (vacuum), and that was enough for the bee to get sucked right in to the dustbuster. Just an idea....if you haven't gotten that new light yet
