Well I am finally free from my Runflats
I got my Style M 172 BMW wheels mounted on Friday with Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tyres, and the difference is amazing
It is like driving a brand new and different car all together
Despite being an even lower profile than I had before with the M 135 Rims, the ride is much smoother. I no longer feel all those tiny road imperfections and bumps to the same degree. Obviously you still feel them to a degree, but at least it is now like a damped or gentle feeling, rather than a harsh jolt.
Here are some pics (please excuse the poor lighting):
Note: I still have the same 15mm H&R Spacers on the rear.

I am thinking of getting those PS2s instead of my Dunlop Sport SP01. Did you feel the differences in terms of handling at dry traction or not yet? I read that the Michlen PS2s should have a much faster steering response and better dry traction than the Dunlops. Some feedback from you on how they perform will be greatly appreciated.

Not sure if the Dunlops you are referring to are run-flats.
I am trying to run the tyres in cautiously so I can not yet comment on hard cornering.
One major difference though is in normal cornering:
- with the runflats, the stiff sidewalls fed a lot of vibration into the steering wheel during cornering.
- with the non-runflats this does not happen at all - cornering is very smooth.

Hey BMW#5, your pictures may have made be decide to get Style 172 (something I was considering before anyway) vs. the Style 166!
Just a couple questions:
What tire sizes did you end up using? Is your sig current (i.e., 245/35-19 and 275/30-19)?
I noticed you said you still had 15mm spacers on the rears; anything on the front?
And finally, how much does the M Sport Suspension lower the vehicle over a standard 530i Sport, if you happen to know?
Thanks, and looks great!

To answer your questions:
- yes the sizes are up to date and are the recommended sizes, as per the attachment below.
- no spacers on the front, as I personally don't feel they are needed. These seem to fit the front better than my old M 135 rims.
- afraid I don't know the answer to your last question
EDIT - the road I took the pics on has a slight slope which causes the gap on the photographed side to be a bit bigger, than it would normally be when the car is on a flat surface.
